GIRLS' Refs looking for new recruits

The RI Women's Lacrosse Umpire Association is looking for new refs to join for the 2018 season.

We have scheduled our training sessions on March 10,17 & 24. 9-12 AM at Barrington High School. The cost for the instruction is $80 which includes chapter dues for this year. We have scheduled our classes closer to the opening of the season for a quick transfer to the field. All materials for the classes are included. Upon conclusion of the classroom instruction and subsequence field training new umpires will be assigned games according to their personal progress. They will shadow officials on the field to learn the finer points in becoming an official. Some new officials will even be assigned varsity games in their first year if they progress at a fast pace.

High school students are welcome and will be assigned to younger divisions (i.e. 1st and 2nd grade games) as part of a test program with RIYLL.

RI BOYS' Officials looking for new recruits

Former Players, Coaches, Parents, Lacrosse Enthusiast:

The RI Lacrosse Officials Association (RILOA) has scheduled training classes for the 2018 Boys Lacrosse Official season (See below).

We are always looking for individuals who would like to join the 3rd team on the field. To become a member of RILOA a new official must be high school graduate and have your own transportation.

Once you have completed the training and pass the exam, RILOA will provide field training as well and then schedule your games.

If you have a love for the game it’s a great way to stay part of the game and give back to the game.  Work as the 3rd team on the field, it’s great exercise because the game is always moving, see the game from a different view, stay involved with the game, and get some extra cash.

Join the 3rd team on the field – you will be glad you joined.

NEW FOR 2018:

Any High School aged individual wishing to attend the training may do so for the cost of the official's manual $15.

Note: Games will be assigned for any High School aged official through your local lacrosse program. RILOA will provide you free training but will not able to assign you games.  Your games need to be assigned through your local lacrosse program.
